Hi,

Joni from Finland here.

Here is some proof of evidence regarding the problems.

You should see my youtube videos. Primers shows everywhere.  :-1:

FYI all model 3s had paint on the hidden place

@early 2018 produced ( like january, feb etc ) but then something happened to the robots in the fire they ( 2x ) worth about 2.000000 $ per piece were destroyed.

If primer was "shown everywhere" why did you accept the vehicle in the first place?

I do see a need for Tesla to address or offer some solution for our northern special needs. However, for you to carpet bomb the internet with your specific problem gets tiresome. If you have an issue bring it to the appropriate authority and get it solve with Tesla. You circle jerking the issue around the clickbait websites only make you look like a shorter.

I don't think it's very likely that this issue with the robots would be present for over a year without Tesla knowing about it.

Just checked with similar lights as you did in your video on my 2015 Jeep Cherokee (black metallic).
Looks about the same with visible primer in some of the same areas on the inner side of the doors and in front of the doors, so probably quite normal for US automakers to do it like this......
Hasn't caused any trouble or corrosion in 4 years in Norway so wouldn't worry to much about it.

Men aldri nok..

I don't think it's very likely that this issue with the robots would be present for over a year without Tesla knowing about it.

I just got verified by calling to Tesla Roadside assistance on Netherlands that my car was build on 8.2.2019 and i got it on 29.3.2019. We have seen cases from states from last november with exactly same problems.

https://teslaownersonline.com/threads/exposed-primer-at-interior-jambs-trunk.8696/

So it seems it is a bigger problem what has been talked lately.  ???

Pls check your black, blue, silver cars? Do you have same?  :o

I am blaming the robots because we have seen the paint is uneven on all doors & body panel.
We have measured the thickness and it does not even corrolate with TESLA standards.

( All the lowers sides of the cars has a lot thinner paint than the high side has ) you can test it yourself it is true case.

Here is my car video on 4K format. You can clearly see the same areas what the people from states were writing about on last november.

I did not to expect these kind of issues on 84.000 € car. It had paint issues already on the delivery & Tesla promised to fix them but it did not go as planned because car paint was going off in 4 weeks. :(

Tesla doesn't "make the paint" them selves. They buy the paint from the same sources as others in the auto industry. They paint the cars inhouse of course, and choose not to paint the "non visible" parts most likely to save some cash (volume). Tho, as many others has pointed out, the paint is just cosmetic. The metal beneath the primer is also coated. The whole body is dipped in some anti corrosion substance before it's painted with primer and paint.

The metal won't corrode before the anti corrosion part is damaged. That's wear and tear and probably won't happen by it self.

But the problem in this is that 84.000 € car should not have any those issues. Paint should be perfect.
Problem is also that the paint is thin, soft and it is not durable. So we have a big mess now.

Tesla uses DURR robots, BASF painting, ppg colors ( eisenmann paint shop ).
Customers should have all cars painted.

If the cars on 2017, 2018 early cars were painted completely clearly they did cut corners after those robots burned down... :(

If the paint does have only primer or e-coat it can start to corrode like in said on goods inspection.

It will not begin to corrode due to some lack of color paint. it is the foundation that is the important barrier here.

But take a paint thickness gauge to measure what the thickness of the primer is
