Hei,
First sorry I'm writing in english, but my norwegian is still not very good.
I bought Peugeot ION with defective charger. I ordered from finndel.no second hand charger and I change it. After that I do the procedure for Water pump actuate (Manual) from this link:
http://mmc-manuals.ru/manuals/i-miev/online/Service_Manual/2012/14/html/M114200120001700ENG.HTM

The car is running now but I'm having a few problems:
1. When I tried to charge it for the first time today with the home charger, first the green light ready lighting, after that showing charging for 3-4 seconds, I can hear some fans started inside and light charging is gone, only ready remaining.
2. On the dash board lighting two warning lights when I start the car - red icon with battery and yellow car with exclamation mark. I took the battery to charge it home tonight, so I will write a results tomorrow.
3. With Delphi diagnostic coming 3 errors:
U1113 -Ignore Fault code -  Permanent,
P0A09 Converter Fault - Intermittent,
P1A12 Vehicle charging fault - Intermittent

4. When I start the car I can here on the back side buzzing/spinning sound of pump or looks like pump, but its not the same which I used in the procedure for coolant change. So I don't know what is this equipment for, but looks like pump other than this used to move to coolant in the engine department.

I assume it may have no coolant in the electronic block I changed, so that's why charging start and stops. Aslo 12V battery failure.
Can somebody tell me what is that pump with buzzing sound, is it normal and how to fill the system there, if any procedure.
Did somebody have an experience with stoping charging after a few seconds.
In general appreciated any help, I really want to be Green and drive Ion.

På forhand takk!

This is the charger I have changed:

engolf

I´m not sure, but the charger on the last picture is the american version (110 volts).
The buzzing "pump" is the vacuum pump for the brake assistans, and it starts when the brake system is low on vacuum, it´s normal.
The "Ready" light should not be on while charging the car. Do you have the ignition on?..

gera4ko

Thanks for the fast reply!
No the car is not in Ready state.
Its off. I will try after a few hours with the charged battery and let you know the result.

gera4ko

The result with charged 12V baterry - Negative!
Again red icon for battery stays all the time when the car is started with yellow car with exclamation mark.

When I'm trying to charge it:
1. In the charger is comming a light charging for few seconds.
2. The fans inside the car start spinning for 2-3 seconds
3. On the dashboard showing red charging plug,
4. Start showing yellow car with exclamation mark and red plug symbol start blinking. Fans are stoped and charger shows only grean ready.

Any ideas?

engolf

I think you need to go to the dealer and reset all your fault codes.
It could be that simple as update the software/reset the codes, but also harware as fuses, wires, converter...
a you sure the new charger is compatible with the car? Same year, part.nr?

gera4ko

I will double check the replaced part number and the year again.

The Broken inverter have following signs:

9499A437                   STD
Serial: 17343              V110
ZGTP1529R                2011.06.13

The NEW inverter have following signs:
9466C341                   STD
Serial: 20977              V110
ZHTP1529R                2011.09.20

So I'm thinking its same and compatible ?

engolf

Is the car drivable?
Did you try fast-charging?
Your codes indicate some problem(s) with the charging, and I think you hade to reset the codes, otherwise the codes will prevent car from accepting the charge.

gera4ko

Hi,
I tried fast charging and yes the car is charging from fast charger.
Yes I can drive the car.
Once I delete the errors they are coming back immediately once the charger is plugged in.
Once I plug the charge fans starts for 3-4 seconds and stops charging.

engolf

What was the symptoms before you changed the charger, same as now?

elekTrond

Have you bled the system properly, including step #8 to #12? It's rather elaborate, like me.  The procedure you posted in your first post do indeed cover it. My guess is an airlock somewhere in the highest point. Perhaps you need to prime the system by hand.  ???

Is there any fill plugs on top of the charger, inverter or whatever that is the highest point in the loop? If not, try reverse fill the tubing back to the pump.

I had the same air problem after completely draining a diesel filter for water (and diesel, sadly.) NAF/AAA failed to revive the car, but I solved it by priming it with a bottle. Although it were supposed to be a self-priming diesel pump ...  ::)

    8.
For the air bleeding of cooling system, operate the water pump for the minimum of 1 minute according to either of the procedures below.

    (1) Not using M.U.T.-III
.....1. Set the electric motor switch to the "START" position.
.....2. Have the Ready indicator illuminated, and maintain the READY status for the minimum of 15 minutes.
noteIn the READY status, the water pump operates intermittently when the coolant temperature is low.
By maintaining the READY status for 15 minutes or longer, the total duration of water pump operation will be 1 minute or longer.

    9.   Set the electric motor switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position to stop the water pump.10.   When the coolant level in radiator condenser tank is at the "L" line or higher, the air bleeding is complete.
    11.   If the coolant level in radiator condenser tank is at the "L" or lower, fill the coolant to the "F" line, and then perform the air bleeding of above step 8 again.
    12.   Adjust the coolant level so that the coolant level in radiator condenser tank comes to near the "F" line when the water pump is stopped.

PS! I'm intrigued by your Delphi. Which model? Is it generic or model specific? Does it have M.U.T. III capabilities? If not, can it write to the car, delete fault codes or is it read only?

Hei, engolf.
Yes it was the same symptoms, but the charger was visibly broken. Two capacitors inside was blown...

gera4ko

Hi, elekTrond,
Thanks for your answer. I will try to remove any air in the system again manually tomorrow.
Delpy is generic, I can delete and read errors, but not MUT III capabilities as I know.
I can take a picture and post it here if you want ?

Mvh,
Angel

Any success today?  :blank:

Yeah, sure, submit a pic if you can. Some info is also nice. We have earlier discussed a couple of brand-specific iCarSoft models, i909 and i970 or thereabout. One of them are semi-model specific as well, if I recall correctly. The Mazda+Mitsubishi one costs from NOK 1,000.- plus VAT and shipping. Two users here has one or the other iCarSoft model. I'd like to hear your experiences with that Delphy thingie. :+1:

PS! Did you throw away the old, broken one? I'd like a peek inside it first.  :o Maybe it's salvable in the right hands.
