Any recommendations for baby pram/stroller for Kona electric?

Hello! My partner and I are expecting our first child in the summer and are already beginning to look at strollers that would fit easily within the Kona's somewhat, ahem, limited boot space. From another post on this forum I saw a recommendation for a Britax Smile stroller but was wondering if any parents out there had experience with others that might fit comfortably and without hassle into the car's boot?

Sorry, I don't have reccomendations, but why not lay it down on the floor for back seat passengers? Takes a few years before the kid is old enough to nne the space, and bye that time, may not fit in a stroller anyway.

Gives you  lots of other options, as length isn't longer that problematic. Unless your thinking of a basket style...

Thanks for the reply! I guess I never considered placing the stroller on the floor of the passenger seat. Although, I wonder if that might make things a bit unsafe in the event of an accident. I remember from my driving course that they were pretty adamant about securely tying things down in the backseat as they can fly about with some force and, y'know, wouldn't want my first born to get a face full of stroller. Ooph...maybe that was a bit grim...

Well, if you plan on crashing, that would not be the best place to put it. The better plan is to avoid crashing in the first place. ;)

Well, to be a bit more serious, things flying inside the car, should ofcourse be avoided. But likely, there are alot of things we often put at a higher level, that is more likely to fly around than a stroller at the footwell that is to long to move very much. And most likely, it'll keep low and just move back and forward in the footwell area.

One posibility would be to use velcro straps secured to the base of the back seats with a couple of nuts'n bolts, or a cargo net. I actually dont remember if thereare any cargo secure points inside the cabin.

We have an infant close to 3 months old and we only have one car, Hyundai Kona Electric 2020. While the trunk space is very small, it does work so far for us. We ended up buying the BigaBoo Fox 2 stroller. It is a bit expensive but similarly priced to the Brio strollers I think. It is a tight fit but it works well, also a very convenient stroller easy to put back together when you arrive at your destination.

Before Christmas we went for a longer road trip and, our first with the stroller. This is obviously a big challenge, and you need to pack smart. To add more luggage space we also bought a rooftop box from Packline.

While the trunk space in the Kona can be a challenge, for the day to day needs it has worked much better than I initially feared when reading various opinions from several forums, including this one. Longer road trips however requires smart planning with packing, however a rooftop box can expand your storage capacity with several 100 liters, on the expense of a little higher overall consumption, but not too bad in my opinion.

Agrre on what you're saying here. But if you buy a "new" Kona today, ask to have the hitch innstalled. Then you can use av cargobox like Thule Backspace XT or Thule BackUp on a Thule EasyBase.

Then the box ends up behind the car instead of on top of it. That creates less drag and easier access. And when you don't need all the cargospace but wants to bring bicycles, you're set for that to.

Unless you want both bikes and extra cargo, but in that case you do both. Roofbox and bike rack om the hitch. I am myself considering strongly to add hitch this spring, if they run the same campaign as last year.
