Hej,

my € 0,02:
Q1: you would need to connect pins 11, 3 and also 9 (EPO) to 12VDC. See also evmonitor.info, blog entry dated feb 5th for a schematic for stand alone operation,
Q3: the BMI starts to send some data on its own when powered up (CAN Ids 23, 302..30F),
Q5: AFAIK, the BMI is not paired with the car, but with the actual battery (SoC, health status etc.).

hope this helps
br,
Jens

Hey! All Think friends.
I have now debugged with my BMI box and can find the following

I can run it loosely on the bench without a battery but it is "difficult to start"

It start once in 10 attempts and start sending Data on CAN bus which is ok report temperature 18 degrees mm.
If it is well started, it runs for several days without any problems.
Have found that I can press the RESET button a few times so it jumps up ..

I feed 12v on pins 11, 3, 9 and GND on 1
The bus at 8 and 16

And it happens the same when I plug it in the car with the Original connector.

So when you turn on the ignition key the box gets 12v and if you are lucky BMI start sending DATA else you have to press the reset button a few times.

I tried to mount it on the battery and connected the 12v power supply earlier, with the same result. That it is "difficult" started.
Besides that the temperature is now not 18 degrees but 6540 degrees and also the sensors in the battery ..
Does anyone recognize these phenomena?
It feels like the BMI box is not OK.
Does anyone know if anyone can repair BMI boxes?
Does anyone have a used BMI for sale?
I live in Sweden

Hi BauDemo!
I live in Öland!
and I think you've owned this car somewhere in the world.
Have got hold of two used BMI boxes with unknown status that are on delivery.
Mvh Erik
