For the BMWi series, you have to use the iRemote app to remote control your car.
I read a lot of people trying to use BMW Connected, but this is not the correct app for the i3 and i8.
We have been using the iRemote app every day since we received our i3 without any issues.
Just make sure you log into the Connected Services web portal and setup everything correctly. Also in your car.
This is not true. The  BMW Connected will replace iRemote, and after the last update, its better and more stable (until the update that came tonight)
The Apple Watch app is also working now, and my car is Blue in BMW Connected  :), but white in iRemote.
Stille some functionality missing, but there is also new functionality in BMW Connected that not been implemented for iRemote.
I have reported bugs in iRemote, and got a reply from BMW that the future is BMW Connected and bugs will not be fixed in iRemote. (They did not tell me that we will get new bugs for free instead  ;))

Well that is interesting, since their website still points you to the iRemote app.

But seeing the bad reviews and complaints, I will keep using iRemote for now. At least that one works without any issues so far.

Har nå fått tilbud på en Charged Edition med tilleggsutstyret Navi Pro, LED Nærlyst og Parkeringspakken til 285.000,-. Har da 8% rabatten.

I highly recommend adding the Technology pakke to the offer! It will replace your Parkeringspakken and add the following:

Technology Package inkluderer: Connected Drive Package (ConnectedDrive Services, Real Time Traffic Information, Concierge Services), bluetooth professional, HiFi høytalersystem Harman Kardon og Park Assistant Package (ryggekamera, parkeringssensor foran og bak, lukeparkeringsassistent).

Jeronan, The ACC is included in Fullly Charged, and is 6800.- for others, and also includes the important Person Recognition/ Approach Control Warning.
So we are down to around 3400.-. There are no BMWs with a radarbased system for that price.
It's not perfect, but is worth 3400.-  ;)
A home charger where I live it worth nothing, because the few days I need more than 10A, I have 3min drive to the nearest DC charger. I can fast charge more than I need for the rest of my life for the cost of an installed home charger.
Things have different value for different people, but the arguments should be based on true facts, not alternative facts.

Ofcourse it's a personal opinion. ;)
We have a 400V TN network at home, so we can charge up to 11kW and fully charge the i3 from 0 to 100% within 5 hours.

The safety camera being part of ACC, that BMW got a lot of critique for not including it standard like is the case with other car manufacturers. Really idiotic from BMW to do it that way.

Back camera is not part of ACC, you get it with the Park Assistant package (included in Technology package).

We have full parking sensors front and back, parkerings Assistant and back camera.

ACC is part of the Driving Assistant plus package and way too expensive for what it does. Just my opinion.
For the price BMW is asking for ACC on the i3, other car manufacturers are giving you radar based ACC today.
Camera based ACC is highly depended on clear weather and good visibility on roads.
How many days a year do we have those kind of perfect weather conditions here in Norway?

I know several people who bought the Fully Charged edition, they are extremely happy with the car but all admit the ACC is highly dissapointing and doesn't work most of the time.
They warned me not to waste money on it and go for the wallbox instead.

Takk for tilbakemeldinger.

We could care less about the adaptive cruise control, since it's camera based ( terrible ) and not radar based like on higher end cars.
Leather interior is not worth the 25k NOK extra you pay for nor the 20inch summer tires (which will give reduced range).

So we went for Charged Edition and added the Technology package, LED front lights, Navigation system Professional Upgrade and the Wallbox NG home charger.

This was all together around 330k NOK. 30k NOK cheaper than fully charged and having the BMW wallbox NG charger at home is fantastic!

For me personally this was the best value package.

BMW i3 / Sv: BMWi wallbox NG problem
fredag 10. februar 2017, klokken 15:42
Yes and that is what I did to solve it.

Just would have liked to know what the error means and thus the problem was, since this color code ( blue/red/red/red ) is not described in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

BMW i3 / BMWi wallbox NG problem
fredag 10. februar 2017, klokken 07:49
Hi,

This morning we noticed that the wallbox was beeping with error blue/red/red/red bar.
The car's battery was down to 95% due to preconditioning on battery instead of wallpower eventhough connected.

Anyone had this error before on the wallbox? As this error code blue/red/red/red isn't mentioned in the troubleshooting section in the manual.

So you have to do something extra to get the mirrors to fold in after locking the car?
As I was wondering yesterday, after we picked up the car and go home and locked the car, why the mirrors didn't fold inwards.

Push and hold the lock bottom for a few seconds to fold the mirrors

Yes we found that out. I guess you can't do it any other way. So we just have to get used to it. :)

Pretty sure that is not 50 kW DC. That doesn't take 3 hours.

Using 50 kW DC should charge the i3 up to 80% within 30 minutes.

BMW i3 / Sv: BMW Wallbox 22kW

We got the new BMWi Wallbox installed in December with 3-phase.

Will be exciting to see how it works when we get our car next week.

BMW i3 / Sv: BMW Wallbox 22kW
torsdag 26. januar 2017, klokken 14:52
The new BMW i3 Gen2 wallbox is 7,4 kW with 1-phase and up to 11 kW with 3-phase.

So if you have a 400V TN network, like we have now with our new house we bought, you can ask for a 3-phase fusebox to be installed by the electrician when installing the Wallbox, instead of the standard 1-phase, like we have done. So we can charge up to 11kW when our BMW i3 arrives.

With 3-phase fuse you can charge up to 11 kW and charge Your i3's battery to 80% within 3 hours and 100% within 5 hours.
That is twice as fast as with the standard 1-phase 7,4 kW.

It's all explained in the BMW i3 brochure and on the official site:
http://www.bmw.no/no/all-models/bmw-i/i3/2016/rekkevidde-lading.html

PS. Also, as far as I know, 11kW is the max. for AC charging. Faster charging can only be done at Public supercharge stations that support DC charging.
The BMW i3 supports up to 50 kW DC charging.
