Ser ut som det er rom for forbedring for flere merker her:
Tesla Model 3 lar deg ikke slå den på (Ser ut som den kan "lures" på, ved å sette navigasjon til superlader)
Audi Etron 55 lar deg ikke slå den av (Temperer batteriet hele tiden uansett, enda man bare skal en kort tur)
Øvrige merker, fyll inn info i tråden.
Den lavthengende frukten er å sette inn en knapp eller funksjon som lar føreren bestemme dette. Men bilprodusentene ser ikke ut til å ha tillit til at sjåførene skjønner hvordan elbiler best kan utnyttes.

Generally, if you're concerned about range in cold weather, use the car's timer to preheat the cabin for 20 minutes prior to the time you select, which will also heat the battery from shoreline power if you are still plugged in.
Both those heaters, cabin and battery (there are two) will have a huge surge of power consumption to do that off the battery, hence your extremely low short distance range. If you drove farther, the battery and cabin would warm and the power consumption would drop.

Yes, when charging, the car is actually on, or for the 15 - 20 minutes prior to departure on the timed preconditioning, yes, the air conditioner will cool the battery.
Probably choice A; the hot afternoon, but if the battery is already hot, it doesn't just magically get cool. So, you'd be charging a hot battery until it cooled.
The trick is to not let the battery get hot.
